ABOUT ME

My name is Alec Yard, and once I set my heart on something, I always achieve it.

5 years ago, after graduating from my school, here in Montréal, Canada; Cégep du Vieux-Montréal, I made my first steps as a working 2D animator. My first project was at Titmouse, on the feature-length Netflix film, Arlo: the Alligator Boy! Here I began to prove that I was a highly dedicated individual, ready for any challenge ahead of me!

As a result, I honed my skills as a great draftsman and strong animator! I continued learning about 2D animation on several other projects, such as the Disney+ Feature-film, Rescue Rangers.

One of my favorite memories on this project was when a small team of us were tasked to focus on a very dramatic sequence between the two main characters, Chip and Dale. I have always been very fond of more serious tones in films, but learning that I could bring such a tone to two cartoony chipmunks, was captivating to me!

Along the way, I also learned to work very independantly as a freelance 2D animator, on many other fun projects!

I'm hoping to bring the same level of fun and curiosity to your new projects!
